1. Purpose and scope of application
This Privacy Policy describes how Expo Innovation Online collects, uses, organises, stores, accesses, discloses, transfers, deletes and protects personal data relating to website visitors, registered users, suppliers/advertisers, company representatives, sales leads and other individuals who interact with the platform.
This policy applies to the website expo-onlinech.com, forms, the subscriber area, email communications, digital campaigns and other channels operated by Expo Innovation Online.

The data controller is Fernanda Derungs, operator of Expo Innovation Online, with its registered office at Grundstrasse 48, 8712 Stäfa, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland. 3. Categories of personal data
Depending on the relationship with the platform, the following data may be processed: identification and contact details, such as first name, surname, email address, telephone number and postal address; professional and business details, such as company name, business activity, website, social media accounts and job title; contractual and billing data; data relating to the use of the platform; IP address, device identifiers, browser, date and time of access; data submitted via forms; the content of communications with Expo Innovation Online; marketing preferences; and technical security information.
Expo Innovation Online does not intend to collect categories of sensitive data except where strictly necessary and legally permitted.
4. Sources of data
Data may be obtained directly from the data subject, from representatives of the subscribing company, from use of the website, from technology providers used by Expo Innovation Online, or from public sources where this is compatible with the purpose and permitted by law.
5. Purposes of processing
Data may be processed to create and manage accounts; to process and manage subscriptions; to publish and manage advertisements, promotions and vouchers; to provide support; to respond to enquiries; to collect subscription payments; to maintain the security and integrity of the platform; prevent fraud and abuse; measure performance; improve functionality; manage commercial relationships; send administrative communications; send commercial communications where permitted; carry out statistical analyses; comply with legal obligations and defend rights.
6. Transparency and information
Expo Innovation Online shall provide information in a clear, comprehensible and easily accessible manner. Where applicable, the identity and contact details of the data controller, the purpose of the processing, the recipients or categories of recipients and, in the event of an international transfer, the information required by Swiss law will be provided.
7. Payments and Stripe
Expo Innovation Online uses Stripe to process payments for subscriptions paid by suppliers/advertisers. Expo Innovation Online shall not store full card details when these are processed directly by Stripe. The processing carried out by Stripe is subject to its own terms and policies, without prejudice to Expo Innovation Online’s obligations regarding the selection and management of suppliers.
8. Sharing with service providers
Expo Innovation Online may use service providers for hosting, technology, CRM, email, traffic analysis, advertising, support, storage and payments. Access to data must be limited to what is necessary for the performance of the service. Where a third party acts as a data processor, the relationship must be governed in accordance with Article 9 of the FADP and the guidelines of the FDPIC.
9. International transfers
Some suppliers may process data outside Switzerland. Where data is transferred abroad, Expo Innovation Online must comply with Articles 16 et seq. of the FADP and the applicable rules, including an assessment of the adequate level of protection or the adoption of legally required safeguards. Data subjects must be informed about international transfers where applicable.
10. Cookies and tracking
The processing carried out using cookies, pixels and similar technologies is also governed by Expo Innovation Online’s Cookie Policy. Third-party tracking technologies must be assessed prior to their implementation and used in a transparent and proportionate manner and, where necessary, subject to valid consent.
11. Commercial communications
The use of data for newsletters, promotions and remarketing shall be carried out in accordance with the Commercial Communications Policy and applicable Swiss regulations, including the rules against unsolicited bulk electronic advertising.
12. Retention period
Data will be retained for the period necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, to comply with legal or contractual obligations, and to defend rights. Accounting records and documents subject to statutory retention obligations will be retained for the applicable period.
13. Information security
Expo Innovation Online will implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access management, authentication, updates, backups, supplier control and measures designed to reduce loss, alteration, disclosure or unauthorised access.
14. Security breaches
Where a personal data breach is likely to result in a high risk to the privacy or fundamental rights of the data subjects concerned, Expo Innovation Online shall assess the situation and, where required by Article 24 of the FADP, notify the FDPIC as soon as possible. Data subjects will be informed where this is necessary for their protection.
15. Rights of data subjects
Within the limits of applicable legislation, data subjects may request information regarding the processing of their data and may request rectification, erasure or other legally applicable measures. Requests should be sent to info@expo-onlinech.com. Expo Innovation Online may request reasonable information to verify the identity of the applicant.
16. Automated decision-making and profiling
Should Expo Innovation Online use automated individual decision-making or high-risk profiling subject to specific obligations, data subjects will be informed and the measures required by law will be implemented.
Final provisions
No provision of this document shall be construed as excluding any rights or liabilities that cannot be validly excluded under applicable Swiss law.
Expo Innovation Online may update this document in the event of relevant legal, technical or operational changes. The current version shall remain available at expo-onlinech.com.
